Traveling with a service animal

Service animals are generally welcome at Whimstay properties, even if the listing doesn't allow other pets.

Let the property manager know in advance

Contact the property manager before your trip to let them know you're bringing a service animal. You'll find their contact information in your booking details and confirmation emails. This helps ensure everything is ready for your arrival.

Service animals are not considered pets

Service animals are trained to assist persons with disabilities. Because they are not considered pets, they are typically accommodated even at properties with no-pet policies. If a property manager has questions about your service animal and what work or task they are trained to perform, they may reach out to confirm details.

Emotional support animals are not considered service animals

Emotional support animals do not require specialized training to perform physical tasks, and are not granted the same public access rights as service animals are. If you'd like to stay in a property with your emotional support animal that isn't listed as pet friendly, you'll need to reach out prior to booking to see if the property manager can make an exception to the policy.
