What to do if your booking was canceled and you didn't cancel it

If you got a cancellation notice but you didn't cancel your booking, it's most likely an automatic cancellation by our system. Here are the two main reasons it happens.

Your ID couldn't be verified

Some bookings require ID verification before they can confirm. If verification doesn't go through (the photo didn't match, the ID was unreadable, or it expired before you finished), your booking is automatically canceled and your payment is refunded.

If you'd like to try again, you can rebook the property.

A scheduled payment didn't go through

If you used Whimstay's part now, part later payments, follow up payments are charged automatically on the date(s) shown in your booking confirmation. If we can't process the charge (expired card, insufficient funds), we let you know and give you 48 hours to update your payment method. If you don't, the booking is automatically canceled.

Ensure your card on file is current so all upcoming payments process successfully.

Your refund

Refunds for auto-canceled bookings go back to your original payment method. Whimstay processes the refund immediately on our side. Your bank typically takes 5 to 10 business days to make it available.

If you have questions about your refund or want to rebook, reach out to us and we'll help.
