If you've messaged your host and haven't heard back, you're not stuck. Here's what to expect and when to bring us in, whether you're still waiting on details before check-in or dealing with something during your stay.
Try reaching your host first
Message your host using the contact info on your booking confirmation page or in your check-in email. See Contacting your host for every way to reach them.
Some hosts may email or text you directly and provide even more details about contacting them so check your emails and text messages for that info.
Put your question or concern in writing, and note when you sent it. That timestamp helps if you need to loop us in later.
đĄ TIP: Save your host's contact info from your booking confirmation email (or the booking details on your Whimstay account) as soon as you get it, so you're not searching for it later.
Before check-in: what's a normal wait
Hosts typically send your check-in details 24 to 48 hours before your stay starts. If check-in is getting close and you haven't heard from your host at all, reach out directly and ask.
Still no response as check-in approaches? Message us and we'll help you track down your host or figure out the next step.
During your stay: reach out to your host and know we'll be here to help
If something comes up once you're at the property, your host is still your fastest path to a fix. Most issues get worked out this way. Give them a reasonable chance to respond.
If you've reached out and haven't heard back, or you've gone back and forth and it still isn't resolved, message us. See What to do if there's an issue during your stay for more info.
If your host reaches out about canceling
See What to do if your host can't accommodate your booking for what to do if your host contacts you about a cancellation.
What happens when we step in
We'll reach out to your host to find out what's going on, and work with you and your host on the best way forward. We'll walk you through your options once we know more.
