For hosts: How to add your check-in and checkout instructions

Check-in and checkout instructions are one of the few details Whimstay doesn't import from Airbnb — you'll add them yourself in your host dashboard. If you skip this step, your guests won't get the info they need to check in to your property.

Where to add your instructions

  1. From your host dashboard, go to Listings and click Edit listing on the property you want to update.

  2. Open the Policies & rules section.

  3. Add your check-in instructions (door code, lockbox location, parking, anything else they need on arrival) and your checkout instructions (trash, keys, lockup).

  4. Save your changes.

You'll repeat this for each property — these instructions don't sync between listings.

When your travelers receive them

Whimstay emails your check-in instructions to your traveler 24 hours before their arrival. The email goes to the address they used to book. You'll get a reminder 48 hours before check-in so you can update anything time-sensitive (a temporary door code, a last-minute parking change).

What happens if you don't add them

If your check-in instructions are empty, your guest won't get the access details they need on arrival day which is essential to a smooth stay.

💡 TIP: Add your instructions as soon as your listing goes live and revisit anytime your access details change.
