For hosts: Add your Whimstay booking to Hospitable

When you get a new booking on Whimstay, your calendar takes care of itself. As long as you've synced your Hospitable calendar with Whimstay, the dates block automatically on every website you manage through Hospitable, so there's no double-booking to worry about.

What sync doesn't do is put the reservation inside Hospitable. If you run your guest communication there, sending messages and automated templates, adding the booking manually gives you a full reservation you can manage like any other.

Sync your calendar first

This article assumes your Hospitable calendar is already connected to Whimstay. If it isn't, set that up first so your dates stay blocked everywhere: Sync your calendars with the other websites you list on.

Why add the booking manually

Calendar sync blocks your dates, but it doesn't create a reservation in Hospitable with your guest's details. Adding the booking by hand gives you a complete reservation, so you can message your guest and run your automated messages from Hospitable, right alongside your bookings from every other website.

Add the booking in Hospitable

You'll find everything you need in the "You just got a new booking" email from Whimstay.

  1. In Hospitable, go to your Inbox and click + Add booking.

  2. Select Add a manual booking.

  3. Fill in the booking details from your Whimstay confirmation email (see below).

  4. Click Create booking.

You can also start from your Calendar: select the dates, click + Add booking in the right panel, then Add a manual booking.

What to enter from your confirmation email

  • Property — select the property that matches your Whimstay listing.

  • Check-in and checkout dates — use the Check-in and Checkout dates from the email.

  • Guest name — the name shown under Guest information.

  • Guest email — the email shown under Guest information. Enter it exactly as it appears in your confirmation email.

  • Phone number — the phone number shown under Guest information.

  • Number of guests — match the adults and children shown next to Guests.

Once you've created the booking, it lives in Hospitable like any other reservation, ready for your messages and automations.
